Volunteers are needed for Greenwood’s fall BOKS session, which will run on Wednesdays and Fridays, October 5-28th. BOKS is a free, before-school, fitness program designed to give kids a body and brain boost that will set them up for a day of learning. Registration for the BOKS program will begin Monday, September 26th.
Principal Back reminds families to complete important PowerSchool registration steps and back-to-school paperwork; highlights this Wednesday’s early release day and shares the schedule for Thursday’s Back-to-School/Curriculum Night; reiterates last week’s message from Wakefield Academy; and notes important district and community events taking place this week- the WHRC’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration and the WPS Community Zoom Meeting.
Principal Back shares important last-week-of-school reminders, beginning with Tuesday morning’s 4th Grade Moving On Ceremony and ending with the 4th Grade Walk of Fame on Friday afternoon; announces some Greenwood staffing updates; reminds families that report cards will be available Friday afternoon and classroom assignments will be sent out in August.
The Greenwood School PTO was happy to present Wakefield Educational Foundation (WEF) with a check for $2100.00. The money was raised from the 9th Annual Gator Gallop held on Saturday, April 9th with proceeds going to the Greenwood School PTO and WEF.
WEF’s mission is to provide grants to the Wakefield Public Schools for innovative and creative programs that are unable to be funded in the current year’s school district budget.
