Dear Greenwood Families,
Happy Monday! I’m sure everyone is going to arrive at school this morning still smiling about all of the fun we had at Greenwood Field Day on Friday afternoon! So much excitement and enthusiasm - thank you to all of the PTO organizers and family volunteers who brought it to life after all of the weather-related trickery earlier in the week. We’re really in the home stretch of the 2021-2022 school year now…if you count it in Gator Tales letters, I only have one left to write before we send everyone off into the summer! Seems hard to believe!
Lost & Found
We had some success on Friday reuniting items with their owners! (Overheard: “This is my kid’s coat! He told me that someone must have stolen it!”) The tables will be out back again at arrival and dismissal on Monday, June 13th to try and facilitate more heartfelt moments like these. We’ll also take some more pictures of clothing items and post them - if you see something familiar, reach out to the main office. Once school is out for the summer, all remaining items will be donated.
Beebe Library Book Talks
On Tuesday, June 14th, the librarians from Wakefield’s Beebe Library will come to Greenwood and talk with students at each grade level about the Summer Reading Program. They will also share the Summer Reading Lists at that time. Be on the lookout for more information!
End-of-Year Dates of Note
We’re not done yet, but it never hurts to keep sharing dates!
Juneteenth - No School - Monday, June 20th
Moving On Celebration for Grade 4 - Tuesday, June 21st
Last day of school for Kindergarten - Wednesday, June 22nd (11:55am dismissal for K only)

Last day of school for students in grades 1-4 - Friday, June 24th (11:55am dismissal)
Exact times and additional details for these will be communicated as they are finalized/confirmed. Additional events will continue to be added as necessary!
Health Reminder
We are still seeing an uptick in COVID cases throughout the district, and while most people seem to be experiencing mild symptoms, it is so important for everyone to maintain vigilance in order to keep school operating as smoothly as possible. While masking remains optional, we have noticed an increase in families choosing to do so during the school day. Please know that masking is always encouraged and supported as a mitigation strategy. As always, you should keep children home if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
Fever of 100.0 or higher, chills, or shaking chills
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
New loss of taste or smell
Muscle aches or body aches
Cough (not due to other known cause such as chronic cough, asthma, allergies)
Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms
Headache, when in combination with other symptoms
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, when in combination with other symptoms
Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms
Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms
If a positive case of COVID is identified in your child’s classroom, you will receive a letter via School Messenger to let you know. Our school nurse, Mrs. Doherty is always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide clarification.
