From the Principal: 6/3/2019

Dear Greenwood Families,

Happy Monday! I hope everyone has their calendars handy and up-to-date, because there are a lot of things to keep track of as we head into the final 13 days of the 2018-2019 school year. This is always a fun and exciting time of year, but it can sometimes make you feel like you’re forgetting something...so we reserve the right to send out updates if need be. ;-)

WPS Retiree Reception

As many of you may be aware, 3rd grade teacher Elaine Pirrello is retiring at the end of this school year. This past Tuesday evening, Superintendent Doug Lyons and the Wakefield School Committee recognized Mrs. Pirrello for her years of service and dedication to educating the children of Wakefield along with other retiring staff members. We are so happy for her as she prepares for new adventures, but we also know that she will be sorely missed in the halls of Greenwood!

Volunteer Breakfast

The staff and I wish to honor our family volunteers who do so much to help enrich our students’ education at the Greenwood School. To show our appreciation, we are hosting a Volunteer Breakfast on Tuesday, June 4th from 8:30-9:15am. The Greenwood PTO will also use this opportunity to recognize “graduating” volunteers. We hope you can join us!

Early Release

Just a reminder that Wednesday, 6/5 is an early release day for students. Lunch will be served at school before we dismiss at 11:55am.

Other Upcoming Events

Incoming Kindergarten families will visit Greenwood School on Thursday, June 6 from 3:15-4:15pm. Our Gators-to-be will have story time with the Kindergarten teachers, parents will hear about some general Greenwood information, and some of our 4th graders will give tours of the building!
