The Wakefield Holiday Shop is a non-denominational program that helps parents who find it difficult to meet their family’s needs purchase holiday gifts for their children.
Making a Donation
Those looking to make donations may drop items off on Sunday, December 1 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Americal Civic Center in Wakefield or at the health office at any Wakefield Public School before Friday, November 29. Donated gifts must be new or never used and can include warm winter clothing (hats, mittens, sweaters), toys, and games suitable for infants, toddlers, children, and teens.
Using the Shop
Parents who have children in Wakefield can shop at the Holiday Shop free of charge. The only requirement is that you are a Wakefield resident and that you shop only for your own children. A picture ID, current proof of residency in your name (such as an electric bill, cellphone bill, mortgage, etc.), and a copy of your child’s report card are required. No P.O. Box or “care of” addresses will be accepted as proof of residency.
The Holiday Shop’s shopping hours are:
Monday, December 2nd - 10am to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm
Tuesday, December 3rd - 10am to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm
Wednesday, December 4th - 10am to 3pm
