Health Notice: Head Lice
To date, there have been a few reported cases of head lice at schools across the district. Per the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), NASN (National Association of School Nurses), AAP (The American Academy of Pediatrics) and the MDPH (Massachusetts Department of Public Health), no nit policies are no longer advised. It is also their position that classroom checks should not be done because of the stigma, embarrassment and a student’s right to confidentiality.

Wakefield Academy is hosting Movie Nights at the Galvin Middle School during Back to School Nights, as a childcare option. Greenwood's Movie Night will be Wednesday, September 21st from 6 - 9 PM. Drop-off will be between 6 and 6:30 PM , allowing you sufficient time to get to Greenwood's Back to School Night.
Tickets go on sale Mon., Sept. 19 and are $10 ($8 for registered Wakefield Academy students) and MUST be purchased in advance from Greenwood’s After School Program.Tickets include admission to the movie, two slices of pizza and a bottle of water. Please inform your site coordinator of any food allergies.
This is open to children ages 4-13 (children must be toilet trained in order to attend). Parents must check their child in when dropping off and check them out when picking up. Children must be picked up by 9 PM or a late fee will apply ($10 for every 5 minutes late).
