Dear Greenwood Families,
Happy Monday! March is just FLYING by! It would be nice if the weather would be a little more consistently cooperative, but then I remind myself that it won’t be long before we’re all complaining about how hot it is. New England weather strikes again!
Authorfest
It’s here! And it’s in person! Please see the information below for the grade-level schedules and links to the authors who will be visiting.
Tuesday, March 22: Kelly Carey - Kindergarten
Wednesday, March 23: Rajani LaRocca - Grades 3 and 4
Thursday, March 24: Sarah Lynne Reul - Grades 1 and 2
Members of the Greenwood PTO Authorfest Committee will be on hand to help support the authors each day. We’re looking forward to a fun event!
WPS Incoming Kindergarten Information Night
If you have a child who will be an incoming Kindergarten student in Wakefield next year, or if you know someone else who does, there will be a virtual information session on Thursday, March 24th from 7:00-8:00pm. This is an opportunity to meet district and school leaders, as well as hear about our Kindergarten model and life in the Wakefield Public Schools. There will be individual school-based information sessions closer to the end of the school year before Kindergarten Screening. Join us on Thursday!

Wakefield Academy Summer Program
This message was sent out last week to all families by Estelle Burdick, Wakefield Academy Director, but I wanted to make sure nobody missed it. It’s never too early to plan for summer!
The most anticipated event of the season has arrived! WA Summer Program is now open for enrollment! Our redesigned summer program is called WoW Summer, Warriors of Wakefield (WoW) Summer Program! Register your Rising K to Rising Grade 5 or PreK child and have them enjoy a WoW summer! Just like our other vacation camps, your child will be begging to come back each day! Please see our brochure for additional details.
Our WoW Summer Enrichment program will include many of your favorite choices! Details will be released soon.
Please note, as you may have heard when we were presenting at the School Committee meeting, our WA Academic program will not be open enrollment this year but by invitation only. Student data will be used as well as principal and teacher feedback to select our students in most need, selected students will receive an invitation from Wakefield Academy. This invitation will be released within the next month.
Please use the link below to check out our summer program and enroll today!
