Dear Greenwood Families,
Welcome back and Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful break, whether you were doing some traveling or simply enjoying the change in routine at home. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone rested and ready to go!
Spare Change Drive Results
When Greenwood sets its mind to something, Greenwood delivers! Between the $475 worth of coins and $354 worth of bills in our classroom jars, our Gator community generously donated $829 to help All Hands and Hearts with their Puerto Rico earthquake relief efforts. And don’t forget...the Greenwood PTO promised to match up to $227 dollars in donations, so Greenwood School is donating a total of $1,056 to the organization. Kudos to our 4th graders for their work on this project, as well as a great big “thank you” to the entire Greenwood community for their generosity!
WMHS Peer Leaders Visit
On Wednesday, February 26th, the Wakefield Memorial High School Peer Leaders will visit Greenwood for the anti-bullying presentations that will take place at each elementary school. These high school students, along with their faculty advisor, will spend time in each 3rd and 4th grade classroom sharing information and doing role plays with small groups of students. They will also be here for the recess and lunch blocks for all grades, which was very popular last year. We’re hoping for some Gator alums among them!
No School—Tuesday, March 3rd
March is right around the corner, and with it comes Voting Day for Massachusetts! Tuesday, March 3rd will be a professional development day for the Wakefield Public Schools, which means no school that day for students.
Thank you for everything you do to support your children and their learning—let’s have a great week!
