Dear Greenwood Families,
Happy Monday! With only five school days left until the December break, we are swinging into extra-super-high gear to wrap up lessons, units, and many other other loose ends before we head out the door. Of course, this week will include many fun and special activities as well! I know that everyone is ready to have some time off from regular school routines. My hope for families over the break is simply that everyone gets to spend a lot of time doing the things that you love to do with those you love. Have an amazing ending to 2019, and let’s welcome 2020 with big smiles and open arms!
All-School Meeting Thursday - Grade 2 Hosting
Hopefully this time the weather will be more cooperative! Our 2nd graders will take charge of the All-School Meeting on Thursday morning at 8:50am and use that time to teach us about the important quality of compassion. Families are welcome to join us and watch from the balcony as we come together as a school.
Greenwood Science Fair Registration
Don’t miss out! Greenwood School will be having its very first Science Fair on Saturday, January 25th, and the registration deadline to receive a free t-shirt (featuring Scientist Guss!) is this Friday, December 20th! Many, many, many more details can be found here. We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with to show their scientific thinking!
Winter Break
There is no school from Monday, December 23rd through Wednesday, January 1st. School will resume on Thursday, January 2nd.
Wakefield Human Rights Commission—MLK Day Events & Activities
The Wakefield HRC is busy with their planning for the Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King on Monday, January 20th, 2020. They are looking for volunteers, holding a button contest for students, and planning a service project to create “cold weather care packages.” Please see the links below for more information!
Lost & Found
Please make sure to check the overflowing Lost & Found this week if your child has had items go missing—everything will be donated after the break.
Thank you for everything you do to support your children and their learning—let’s have a great week!
