According to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations, the following health screenings will be conducted the at Greenwood School on Friday, Nov 8th:

Kindergarten: hearing
Grade 1: vision, hearing, BMI (height & weight)
Grades 2 & 3: vision & hearing
Grade 4: vision & BMI (height & weight)

Vision and hearing screening tests done at school are not diagnostic in nature. They are done simply to indicate students who may need further evaluation. Because any child who does not pass the initial screening is retested, you will not be notified until after the second screening if your child does not pass. Even if your child passes the school screenings, if you have any concerns, you should follow up with your child’s physician.

If you choose not to have your child participate in the BMI (height & weight) screening, please notify me in writing by October 31st.
