From the Principal: Dec 17

Dear Greenwood Families,

Happy Monday! With only five school days left until the December break, we are swinging into extra-super-high gear to get as much as we can accomplished before we go. Of course, this includes many fun and special activities as well! I know that everyone (and we do mean EVERYONE) is ready to have some time off from regular school routines. My hope for families over the break is that everyone gets to spend a lot of time doing the things that you love to do. Have an amazing ending to 2018, and let’s ring in 2019 with a big smile!

Greenwood Spirit Week

The 4th Grade Student Council has decided that Greenwood will have a week-long Spirit Week. Here is the announcement they made at the end of the day on Friday:

  • All of the students and adults here at Greenwood School are invited to be a part of a fun event or activity each day.

  • On Monday, it is “Holiday Hat Day.” Let’s celebrate the season with a fun hat or headband!

  • Tuesday is going to be a special day with some extra recess. Your teachers will decide when!

  • Make sure you check out the school lunch menu on Wednesday - you’re going to notice a holiday theme!

  • Get out all your red and green for Thursday! Those are holiday colors AND Greenwood & Wakefield colors!!

  • Finally, on Friday, we will have a comfy day with everyone wearing pajamas to school. There will also be a sing-along!

The Student Council is excited for next week and can’t wait to see everyone showing their spirit by joining in the fun. We want to keep working to make Greenwood School a special place and will have more announcement about projects and events after the break. We hope everyone has fun with Spirit Week!

ALICE Safety Drill

Just a reminder that Greenwood will be practicing our school safety drill on Wednesday, December 19th from 9:30-10:00am. An email via School Messenger was sent home on Friday with more information.

Open Gym - December Break

On December 26, 27, and 28, the Wakefield School Resource Officers will be hosting a FREE open gym time at the Galvin Middle School from 9:00-1:00pm each day. Enjoy some basketball, wiffle ball, floor scooters, soccer, kickball, dodgeball, and more! Spots are limited, so email Officer Kelley Tobyne ASAP (KTobyne@wakefieldpd.org) to reserve a spot. Remember to pack a water bottle, snacks, and/or lunch. Please note: for safety purposes, an adult must drop off and pick up children.
