From the Principal

You don’t always know what your kids will do, but your kids should always know what you will do
— Joyce Sanders

Dear Parents,

Our ghosts and goblins in grades K-2 will parade around the school Monday afternoon, 10/31, beginning at 2:15. Parents wishing to join us may do so. You can wait out on the playground. In the event of rain you may line the first floor hallways.

You should have received the flyer from Mr. Swift and his class who are coordinating a drive to support victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. They have asked each grade level to send in different items. You can also see this list of items here. The drive runs from Tuesday, October 25th through this Friday, November 4th. We hope you will consider supporting our 2nd graders with this drive.

By now you should have heard from your child’s classroom teacher concerning conferences that will be held Wednesday, November 9th, Wednesday, November 16th, and with evening conferences from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday evening November 17th. This is your opportunity to learn how your child is progressing toward grade level standards and to ask any questions you may have for the classroom teacher.  All specialists are available for conferences as well. Art, music, PE, and technology teachers share responsibilities among several elementary schools and will only be available certain hours which I will email to you later this week. I encourage you to try and schedule an appointment with any and all specialists if you want to learn how your child is doing in any or all of these areas as well.  Please consider conference time a collaboration between home and school and that we value your questions and insights about your child as a learner.

Have a great week!

Regards,
Deb Collura
