From the Principal: 12/20/21

Dear Greenwood Families,

Happy Monday!  With just four school days left until the December break, we are swinging into extra-super-high gear to wrap up lessons, units, and many other other loose ends before we head out the door for a little time off.  Of course, there will be some fun activities as well!  My hope for all of our Greenwood community over the break is simply that everyone gets to spend time relaxing and doing things that make them happy.  Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, Happy New Year to all, and let’s wrap up 2021 with a positive attitude and welcome 2022 with big smiles and open arms!

School Schedule This Week

Just to make sure we’re all on the same page…we are in school for regular hours this week Monday 12/20 through Thursday 12/23.  Dismissal on Thursday will be at the normal time, 2:45pm.  There is no school on Friday, December 24th and all WPS buildings and offices will be closed that day.

Spirit Week

We’re going to liven up the last four school days of 2021 with some fun school-wide theme days!  Classroom teachers have likely shared the schedule out already, but just in case…

  • Monday, 12/20 - Greenwood T-Shirt Day (we have these at school)

  • Tuesday, 12/21 - Flannel Day

  • Wednesday, 12/22 - “Crazy Festive” Day (red & green, snow theme, ugly sweaters, fun hats, etc.)

  • Thursday, 12/23 - Pajama Day

Lost & Found

We were able to facilitate more than a few reunions last week, but there are still many items lingering in our lost & found bin.  These will be donated if not claimed before the December break, so please reach out to Ms. Paiva if you want to check the bin or have us take a look for a specific item.

New Lunch Monitor

This past week, we welcomed Francesca Ciulla to our Greenwood staff as our lunch monitor.  She will be helping to support students during lunchtime, and we are thrilled to have her!

Lunch Survey Coming Soon

Keep an eye out for a separate email with the lunch survey for January 2022 - it will be sent out by Tuesday morning.  Please fill it out right away so we can make sure Food Services gets the lunch counts prior to everyone heading out for break.  Thanks!
