From the Principal: 12/13/21

Dear Greenwood Families,

Happy Monday!  Thank you to everyone who helped provide a little holiday cheer for the Greenwood staff last week by sharing your cookie recipes (and cookies).  I’d tell you which ones were the favorites...but they were all gone too quickly to be able to tell!  Just one of the many reasons that we love and appreciate our Greenwood community - we couldn’t do our work without your support!

Early Release - Wednesday, December 15th

Our next early release day for students is on Wednesday, December 15th.  All students will be dismissed at 11:55am in order for WPS staff to have professional development sessions in the afternoon.  Please note: there will be a scheduled lunch block for students prior to dismissal.

Lost & Found

In order to try and reunite more items with their owners, we will have tables displaying our lost & found items outside the back door at arrival and dismissal later this week.  As long as the weather cooperates, you will be able to take a look for yourself during the following times:

  • Wednesday, December 15th @ dismissal (11:55-12:10pm)

  • Thursday, December 16th @ arrival (8:25-8:40am) and @ dismissal (2:45-3:00pm)

  • Friday, December 17th @ arrival (8:25-8:40am)

IMPORTANT - Test & Stay Reminder

We have many families who have signed their children up for the Test & Stay Program, but we are still not at 100%.  If your child is not signed up for the program and are identified as close contacts in school, they will need to stay out of school to quarantine.  Test & Stay allows students to remain in school if not showing symptoms.  To sign your child up for this program, please follow the link in this letter to do so.  There was no paper form sent home - all signups are completed online.  Any questions can be directed to me or to our school nurse, Mary Doherty.

  • Cough (not due to other known cause such as chronic cough, asthma, allergies)

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Muscle aches or body aches

  • Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Headache, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms

Our school nurse, Mrs. Doherty, is always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide clarification.
