From the Principal: 10/3/22

Dear Greenwood Families,

Happy Monday!  October already?  The weather certainly shifted to fall-like temperatures quickly…and you’ll hear no complaints from us!  I’ve been noticing a lot of apples popping up in lunchboxes from apple-picking adventures.  I’m assuming the apple cider donuts got eaten too quickly to make it to school!  Or maybe that’s just in my household…

School Photo Day

O’Connor Studios will be at Greenwood this Thursday, October 6th to take individual student photos, class photos, and the 4th grade group photo.  You should have received an email from O’Connor about photo ordering options (for a reference point, I received one on September 27th and a reminder on September 30th - if you do not see the email in your inbox, please check your spam folder and other family email addresses we have on file for your student).

Please note: the 4th grade photo will start being organized around 8:45am, so please make extra sure your child is on time.

Snack Milk

While school lunches are free this year, milk at snacktime is not.  If you would like your child to have milk during snack, please be sure and return the order form for snack milk.  If you need a hard copy, please reach out to Ms. Paiva and one can be sent home with your child.

Greenwood School Council

The Greenwood School Council held its first meeting of the year on Thursday, September 29th.  The School Council consists of parent and staff representatives and provides input/feedback for our school improvement plan, school budget, and educational needs/goals for Greenwood.

Wakefield Academy Enrichment Courses - Enrollment Deadline 10/3

The following message was sent out via School Messenger to families - if you didn’t see it, please update your PowerSchool contact information!

Wakefield Academy is excited to announce that their Fall 2022 Enrichment for our PreK to Grade 8 students is open for enrollment!  We have new experiences as well as our classics back for your child’s enjoyment!  Unless otherwise noted, all courses start the week of October 10th and run for 6 weeks.

Please use the link below or go to our website to check out our new registration system, Eleyo, where you will find all of our enrichment offerings by school (scroll down to find your child's school).  This new system has made it so much easier for you to choose the right program to meet your child’s schedule.  Just add your course(s) to your cart and checkout as you would shopping at any online store.  Additionally, for our childcare families, you can make your payment for all programs at once.  Just a reminder to our extended day program families, you can complete your October schedule after you have selected your enrichment courses so your schedule is completely covered.  We hope you enjoy our new enrollment format and system!

WA Enrichment Courses 2022

If you are new to Eleyo, you will create a parent account by clicking the “create one now” at the bottom of the sign-in screen (just like you would for an athletic program or recreation department account).  Once you add your child or children to your account, you will then be able to choose any course your child would enjoy.  Please note, you do not need to complete an annual registration to sign-up for our enrichment programs, annual registration is only for enrolling in our extended day program.

No School - Monday, October 10th

Just a reminder that all WPS schools and offices will be closed on Monday, October 10th.  Enjoy the three-day weekend!
