Dear Greenwood Families,
Happy Monday! The other day when I was driving home, I suddenly noticed that the sky wasn’t completely pitch-black at 5:00pm. While we still have plenty of winter to get through, it’s nice to have that reminder that we’re slowly but surely moving toward longer daylight hours once again. Even better to see some headlines such as, “COVID-19 cases have peaked in Massachusetts” and “Sharp decline in COVID wastewater levels in Boston area” as we continue our work in school. Brighter days all around!
Early Release - Wednesday, January 26th
Our next early release day for students is on Wednesday, January 26th. All students will be dismissed at 11:55am in order for WPS staff to have professional development sessions in the afternoon. Please note: there will be a scheduled lunch block for students prior to dismissal.
Dress for the Weather
Easier said than done, of course! Please know that we make every possible effort to have outdoor recess and only keep children inside if it is bitterly cold (like Friday was!) or actively raining. Be prepared!
Student Absences - School Safety Line
Please remember to call the Greenwood Safety Line (781-245-6646) to let Ms. Paiva know if your child will be out of school for a day or a period of time. Part of our routine every morning is to make sure each child is accounted for, and your message saves us the step of having to call and confirm an absence with the family.
Lunch Survey - February
As soon as we receive next month’s lunch menu from WPS Food Services, the February lunch survey will be sent out directly to families via School Messenger.
