From the Principal: 4/12/21

Dear Greenwood Families,

Happy Monday!  It seems a little hard to believe that we’re teetering on the edge of April break, given that it feels like we just launched the school year this past week.  Even though we’ve had students and staff in the building since September through the hybrid model, there was something extra-special about the increased level of activity in and around the building.  Because my office windows face toward the Greenwood garden, I was especially pleased to see and hear classes taking advantage of the outdoor classroom space for learning blocks.  We just need the weather to continue to cooperate!

Reminder - April Break

School will be out for April break the week of April 19-23.  Office hours will be very limited - email is the best point of contact if you need something that week.

COVID Notifications

When there is an instance of a positive COVID test result for a member of our Greenwood community, we will message out the relevant information to those who are directly impacted.  If there is a case detected in your child’s classroom, your family will receive a phone call and/or email as notification. This takes place once contact tracing is complete, and it will let you know if your child is or is not considered a close contact.  In order to maintain the privacy of individuals, we do not share more information than that.  You can always reach out to me or Mary Doherty, our school nurse, with additional questions.

Staffing Update

We have a new lunch monitor here at Greenwood!  Patti Milley started with us last Monday to help supervise lunch and lunch recess, and she has really been enjoying getting to know the kids!  Mrs. Milley was working at Wakefield Academy this year while we were in the hybrid model, and we were lucky enough to scoop her up when full in-person learning started.  We’re glad she’s here!
