Dear Greenwood Families,
Happy Monday! It’s hard to believe that we’re heading into the last week of March already - time flies! It has been great having so many opportunities to see families in the halls of Greenwood recently. Between the All-School Meeting and conferences, it’s been lively - just the way we like it!
Conference Early Release - Wednesday, March 29th
Our next early release day for students is on Wednesday, March 29th. All students will be dismissed at 11:55am in order for teachers to hold conferences with families during the afternoon. (Evening conferences will take place this day as well.) Please note: there will be a scheduled lunch block for students prior to dismissal.
Gator Gallop
We are so excited for the Gator Gallop on Saturday, April 1st! I mentioned it during lunch the other day and got a lot of “I’m doing that!” from some very enthusiastic children. Even if nobody in the family is running, it’s still always a good time! Check out the website for more information. See you there!
Food Rescue Program - Volunteer Drivers Needed
Our lunchtime composting and food rescue programs are going strong! However, we could use some help in getting the food donations picked up at Greenwood and delivered to the designated locations in Wakefield, Stoneham, or Melrose. Food pickup can be done anytime after 1:30pm on a selected date. Please visit the link below for more information and to sign up. Thanks in advance!

Wakefield Visual & Performing Arts Night
VPAD is back! Arts night will be held on Tuesday April 4th at the Galvin Middle School. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Art show reception will be from 6:30-8 pm. Jazz concert starts at 7:30 pm in the Galvin Auditorium. Refreshments will be provided by Wakefield Music Boosters. Come join us for a night to celebrate the arts!
Wakefield Visual & Performing Arts Day (VPAD)
On Wednesday, April 5th, Galvin Middle School will host ALL of the elementary schools (on a rotating schedule) for an art tour and high school musical performance. We do not have a finalized schedule yet, but Greenwood students and staff will be taking buses to the Galvin together as a school for this “in-town field trip.” I will share more information once I have it!
Lunchroom Volunteers
Thank you to everyone who has given us some of your valuable time over the past few weeks! Updated time slots are being added at the current link and now go through the end of April.
Do you have any free time between 12:00-1:15pm on school days? Or 10:30-11:50am on early release days? Looking for a way to help out at Greenwood? We are finally bringing back lunchroom volunteer opportunities! If you’d like to come in and help support students while they’re eating lunch, please see the linked Sign-Up Genius to select time slots over the next two weeks. Single days, multiple days, one time slot, the whole lunch block…we welcome any and all helpers!
As an FYI, we will be incorporating our lunchroom volunteers into the food rescue/composting program work. Don’t worry…it’s easy!
NOTE: You will need to have a CORI form completed before coming in for any lunch shifts - please contact Ms. Paiva about the process or to check if you have a current one on file
