Dear Greenwood Families,
Happy Monday! Now that most of the clocks in my life update themselves for Daylight Saving Time, it makes it even more confusing to encounter the ones that don’t do it automatically. Especially when it’s a car clock that you might not see until Monday morning on the way to work...

March Madness Tournament of Books
Anyone who spends time around an elementary school knows that the arrival of March brings Read Across America Day, and most folks are at least some (if not very!) aware of the onset of college basketball’s “March Madness” tournaments. Greenwood wanted to find a way to combine the two! Starting last week, we have created a tournament-style bracket to whittle down 16 picture books of different genres and diverse cultures to one favorite at the end of the month. The books were chosen from a list of NEA recommended titles and books that fit themes of celebrating individual differences, diversity, and how we can learn from each other. The classes have enjoyed hearing new stories and voting on their favorites - be sure and ask your child about it!
District Math Curriculum Review—Parent Volunteers needed
The Wakefield Public Schools is beginning a PreK-12 Mathematics Curriculum Review this spring. The goal of this review is to evaluate, improve, and implement resources for reflective teaching and learning in the area of mathematics. In order to include a variety of voices in the process, the district team is seeking parent members for the team. There are specific afternoon meeting dates already scheduled for the spring, with the first meeting to be held on Tuesday, March 31st from 3:30-4:30pm. If you are interested in learning more about applying to be part of this important work, or if you have additional questions, please send me an email.
