A house fire damaged the home of Greenwood's Andrea, Brayden, and Evan Kelly last Friday afternoon. Brayden is a first grader in Mrs. Morse's class and Evan is a kindergartner in Mrs. DiVasta's class. Many parents have reached out to the school to see how they can support the Kelly family during this most difficult time. Fortunately, Andrea, Brayden, Evan and their pets are okay, but their home and possessions were destroyed. They will be displaced for quite some time while their house is being restored. We have spoken with Andrea and identified some needs that would be most helpful to her and the boys at this time.
Monetary donations and gift cards are greatly appreciated, especially to places like:
- Home Depot
- Target
- Shaws
- Market Basket
- Gas cards (as mom is now commuting from Haverhill daily)
The boys clothes have already been replaced by family and, unfortunately, they currently have no place to keep toys, books, etc. Instead, Andrea mentioned gift cards for activities she can do with the boys after school, on the weekends, and during the upcoming February vacation would be helpful.
- Build-a-bear
- Movie theater
- Bowling
- Papa Gino's
- Fudruckers
Please help us show the Kelly family their Greenwood family is here to support them by helping in any way you see fit. Please send donations into school via your child's folder in an envelope labeled "Kelly Family" or give them to Heather McCarthy or Jen McNeilly before or after school. Andrea is overwhelmed by all of the support and generosity surrounding her and the boys.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Heather McCarthy (heather_jb@msn.com) or Jen McNeilly (jencrisp_uga@yahoo.com).
