From the Principal

Dear Parents,

It was wonderful to see families at our Spring Learning Fair. I’m sure you were impressed with your child’s growth during this school year.  It is hard to believe we are down to the last two weeks of school!

Our fourth grade students will have their Moving On Ceremony on Tuesday, June 13 at 9:00 AM. Fourth grade families are invited to join us.

The staff and I wish to honor all the parent volunteers who do so much to help enrich our students’ education at the Greenwood School. To show our appreciation we will host a Parent Volunteer Breakfast from 8:30 – 9:30 Wednesday June 14.  We hope all our wonderful volunteers will be there!

Our Kindergarten students will have their Moving Up day on Monday June 19 where they will have an opportunity to meet their first grade teacher and their classmates. The students will learn a little about first grade from their teacher. It is our hope that this helps students to leave for the summer knowing their teacher and classmates. Our students in grades 1-4 will have their Moving Up Day on Thursday June 22.

For grade 3 and 4 students who wish to participate in the Talent Show we will hold auditions Friday June 16 at 9:30 AM.  Students must come prepared to perform will all costumes, props, equipment, etc… they will need. Any music that will be required should have been submitted.  We do have a piano, microphones and gym mats available for students who need them.

The last day of school for our kindergarten students will be Monday June 19 so that staff members can participate in kindergarten screening. It will be a full day for the students. The last day of school for grades 1 – 4 is Friday June 23  and it will be an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 11:55 and no lunch will be served on this day.  We invite families of our fourth grade students to join us in the first floor hallway to cheer our fourth graders as they have their final Walk of Fame through the Greenwood School!

Have a great week!

Regards,
Deb Collura
