Every year Wakefield runs a Holiday Shop in an effort to provide Wakefield families with gifts for their children for the holidays. The shop tries to supply an assortment of gifts suitable for babies through teenagers.
Looking for Some Help this Christmas?
For various reasons some families find themselves in a position of wondering how they will provide holiday gifts for their children. The only requirement for using the holiday shop is that you are a Wakefield resident and that you shop only for your own children. A picture ID and current proof of residency in your name, such as an electric bill, cell bill, mortgage, etc. is required.
Your presence is kept confidential. Other than a limited number of workers, the only other people in the Holiday Shop are parents and guardians that find themselves in circumstances similar to yours.
The 2016 holiday shop will be open Monday, December 5, Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7 from 10 AM – 3 PM. The shop will also be open one evening, Monday, December 5 from 6-8 PM
Able to Help Those in Need?
Any individual or business that wishes to provide anonymous support to Wakefield residents may donate gifts to the shop. If you are able to provide any new toys, art supplies, clothing, or teenage type cosmetics your help will be greatly appreciated.
Items for middle and high school children are always in short supply. New clothing in assorted sizes is always a help. If you are looking for suggestions, places like Old Navy always have great deals for the holidays.
Unwrapped items may be brought to the nurses’ offices at any of the Wakefield Public Schools by Friday, December 2, or dropped off on Sunday, December 4 from 2-5 PM at the Civic Center.
We thank-you in advance for any help you can provide.
