Save the Date for the Greenwood School Spring Dance!
On Thursday, April 4th, 2024 from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Greenwood Gym, we will be having our Family Folk Dance Night! Bring the whole family (immediate or extended) for a fun evening of live music and folk dancing led by WPS music teachers Mrs. Brighenti, Mr. Zini, and Ms. Schwartz. Join us in learning dances from around the world appropriate for all ages and abilities!
Folk dancing is done all over the world as a way to build community and connect with others, and it's an important part of the WPS elementary music curriculum. It brings us together as a Greenwood Family- no TV, Facebook, Video Games, Cell Phones… just an hour of socializing, music, movement, and then snacks! You do NOT need to know how to dance, and you don’t need to learn any dances ahead of time! There will be a live band and a “Caller” to teach the steps!
BAND: Any family member, school faculty member, or friend who feels comfortable playing an instrument is welcome to participate in the live music. Go to this link to join! The event lasts only 1 hour! There will be lemonade, water, and popcorn to follow, sponsored by the Wakefield Music Boosters! You just provide yourself and any family and friends you can gather!
This is a FREE event!
Dress comfortably in layers and wear comfortable shoes!
Coats can be placed along the perimeter of the Gym
This night is about being together, so PLEASE PARTICIPATE if you are at all able. I know it’s hard, but shed your inhibitions and join in with your kids!
All food and drinks will be out AFTER the dancing ends at 7:00.
All children must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older for the duration of the evening. No child should be left unattended by his/her parents/guardians. Greenwood Faculty/Staff are not responsible for your child. Appropriate school behavior is expected in order for the evening to be enjoyed by all!
