Greenwood Family Folk Dance Night

  • Greenwood School 1030 Main Street Wakefield, MA 01880 (map)

Bring the whole family (immediate or extended) for a fun evening of live music and folk dancing led by WPS music teachers Mrs. Brighenti, Mr. Zini, and Ms. Schwartz. Join us in learning dances from around the world appropriate for all ages and abilities!

If the sound of this strikes fear in your heart, don’t worry… you will have fun! Folk Dancing is an important part of the WPS elementary music curriculum and is an even bigger part of our cultural history! But, an even bigger reason is that it brings us together as a Greenwood Family—no TV, Facebook, Video Games, Cell Phones… just an hour of socializing, music, and movement! It’s a great way to celebrate the Harvest Season! You do NOT need to know how to dance, and you don’t need to learn any dances ahead of time! There will be a live band and a “Caller” to teach the steps!

BAND: Any family member, school faculty member, or friend who feels comfortable playing an instrument is welcome to participate in the live music. GO TO THIS LINK TO JOIN! https://bit.ly/3SPHYiL

This is a FREE one-hour event! There will be apple cider, water, and popcorn to follow, sponsored by the Wakefield Music Boosters! Dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes! All children must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older for the duration of the evening. No child should be left unattended by his/her parents/guardians. Greenwood Faculty/Staff are not responsible for your child. Appropriate school behavior is expected in order for the evening to be enjoyed by all!
