Greenwood Field Day

Update 6/5/22:

Greenwood's Field Day is this Wednesday, June 8th from 9am - 11:55am. (This is an early release day and we will be using the whole morning!)
Volunteers--look for an email with information.
We are looking for 3 more wagons to use for class water bottles and snacks.

Please send your child to school Wednesday morning with a labeled water bottle and easy snack & lathered in sunscreen. Each student should wear their class t-shirt and comfortable clothes/sneakers for playing. (4th graders wear the white t-shirts they designed at home.)

Lunch will be in the cafeteria--there will be school lunch available, but we suggest bringing a bagged lunch due to time constraints.

We are watching the weather forecast. The rain date for Field Day is Thursday after lunch. If necessary, a decision will be made Tuesday at 7pm, and announced on the PTO social media and email. Let's hope the forecasted rain goes away!

A quick description of our annual field day - A.K.A - THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR!

Each class walks around with their Teacher and a Parent Volunteer to the various Stations located around the outside of the school. Each class has 15 minutes for each station's activity. We make it easy—rotate like a clock around the school. Each station will have 2-4 Parent Volunteers running the activities.

Some examples of past stations include; Dunk Tank, Basketball toss, sack races, tug of war, gaga pitt, relay and obstacles courses, dj dancing station, water toss, etc....

No matter what job you take on, it's a fun, fun day.

If you plan to volunteer or be on property, you need to have an updated CORI on file. Fill out the CORI today - don't delay. Please call Mrs. Paiva to see if your CORI is up to date. If you need to fill out a CORI, you need to go into the school in person to sign the CORI form in front of the Front Office Staff. The office will also need to take a copy of your license and vaccination card.

Thank you!
-Field Day Committee

We will send an email to each station’s volunteers, with more guidance, as we get closer to Field Day.

It is the best volunteer time you can have at Greenwood! Each station is easy to run, low stress and lots of laughter. We have heard from parents every year saying they had the most fun and the kids love seeing their parents enjoying the day with their schoolmates!
