Field Day is one of Greenwood’s most anticipated days of the year. Students enjoy the outdoors as they participate in traditional obstacles and games. From sack races and water balloon tosses to a dunk tank and dancing, the day is energetic and full of fun.
Field Day is managed by parent volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering to help with a station, please sign up.
It is requested that all students:
- Wear their classroom t-shirts for the day.
- Bring along a bagged lunch, or pre-order a bagged lunch through Ms. Paiva in the front office by Friday, May 26th. (We will be picnicking in the school yard.)
- Bring their own water bottle. (There will be water stations as well.)
- Wear sunscreen. (They will be in the sun quite a bit of the day.)
- Wear shoes that they can run, jump and crawl with, that can get a little wet, and that are comfortable.
All parent volunteers and attendees:
- Need to have an up to date CORI on file in the front office.
- May bring a blanket or towel to sit on for the picnic.
- Who are supporting a Station should plan for a prompt 11:45 AM start.
At the end of the day, we will be handing out preordered slush. In previous years, it was chaotic. This year, the kids will preorder their slush flavor in class and then get the flavor they ordered. We will have extra slush on hand for volunteers.
There are opportunities for everyone—from those who can commit to at-home evening prep work to those who can be present at the event, and we need your help. Please view our current needs and sign up online.
The event takes place at the Greenwood School. The rain date is June 9th.
