Even though school is out, summer is a great time for children to grab a book and continue learning. The morning of June 12, Greenwood students will be engaged and inspired to grab a book and read during the summer months.
Media Specialist Julia Sparano will host librarians from Wakefield’s Beebe Library to transform Greenwood's Wakefield Academy room into a fun, motivating reading fair. From identifying good books to grab to creating video book reviews and a mural for the Beebe, we know this will be a great end-of-year event.
The Greenwood PTO is pleased to donate 27 books to be featured at the event. These books will be placed into Greenwood library circulation this fall.
We are also excited to (for the first time!) showcase the PTO’s latest investment—Google Expeditions. Thanks to a grant from the Wakefield Educational Foundation (WEF) and financial support from the PTO, children will have the opportunity to bring what they are learning in class to life by attending virtual field trips.
