The May PTO meeting is generally our last business meeting of the year. Please come and vote in the board election and learn about the chairperson roles and support roles that have vacancies.
The Greenwood PTO is recognized by the IRS as a non-profit 501(c)(3), a tax-exempt group formed to benefit the Greenwood School. In order to retain this status, several board positions need to be filled for the 2017/18 year. Online nominations for Board positions closed May 1. The Nominating Chair has reviewed all nominations and contacted those nominated to discuss the role.
At this May meeting, the Nominating Chair will make her recommendations for each Board position. As each recommendation is made, the PTO members in the room will have the opportunity to self-nominate or nominate another parent for the position. An election will then take place on the spot. At the end of this meeting, we will have our Board for the 2017-18 school year!!
There are a number of Committees that needs chairs or support. Some important roles that are currently vacant provide for the school dances, management of the library and teacher appreciation events. Review the Committee transition plan on the Get Involved page. As you can see, it is a work-in-progress! We look forward to hearing your questions and ideas at this meeting, and of course, your interest in any roles.
